Quilt Everyday Day 1

Quilt Everyday Day 1

The first 15 minutes: appliqué background is ready, first 2 appliqué pieces are ready and the templates and fabric for the rest of the pieces are ready to go!

Day 2

Day 2

One stem completely attached, one basted in place and 4 leaves and 4 flower petals marked and cut out!

Day 3

Day 3

Second stem, one leaf.

Except leaf was done poorly. Phooey.

Day 4

Day 4

As mentioned in Day 3's report: the first leaf was done very poorly...so....I redid it, plus got a 2nd leaf done. Much better!

It's not going to be perfect by any means, but the first leaf was so bad it was embarrassing....

Day 5

Day 5

I didn't actually time myself, just did the other 2 leaves.

I'm having technical difficulties, either with the leaf template I used or the tracing of the block, the leaves aren't quite all the same size.

I'm not sure, but one of those might have to be redone. Again. Or not.

Day 6

Day 6

Yeah! Some pink!

The washable glue stick I'm using to baste is blue glue, so that's why those pink petals have a glob of what looks like blue in the middle of them.

I feel a bit like I'm exposing my underwear or something by showing this block in progress. It doesn't really look all that great, but I have confidence that once the appliqué is all done and the marks all washed out (and the block pressed...) it'll be great!

Day 7

Day 7

Four center petals done!

Ignore the nasty ironing board cover. Yuck.

Day 8

Day 8

Two little striped petals.

I'll be glad to rinse the blue marks and blue glue out of this and press it.

Day 9

Day 9

Watched a movie tonight and have to have something to do with my hands while I watch. Decided to go ahead and get the rest of the striped petals done. Now, I need to figure out what to use for the centers, and then get something ready for my trip to New Hampshire!
